Mono floating up months after I felt like I was getting better?

I was diagnosed with mono in about march and i suffered from extreme symptoms for about 3 months, I was bed ridden for around a month after the main symptoms left just because of being so tired. within a week of feeling better I proceeded to go on a 2 week long dive trip in Bonaire which i know is a bad idea but it was booked and I couldnt cancel. To my suprise, it went very well and i felt great just tired for the entire trip. after that trip i was mostly symptom free with the exception of feeling tired all the time. fast forward to present day and i am back to feeling like crap, I was told that mono rarley comes back but i am nearly certain this is whats going on. I thought the last few weeks i was just getting a cold but thats it, i just kept feeling as i was was getting sick but i didnt feel sick. Has anyone else gone through a similar bounce back? Im going to go to the doctor tomorrow to confirm that it is mono and not something else but i feel like i have mono just not as bad as before.

Hi 50 Shades,
So sorry you have been having such a tough time with the mono hitting hard again, it's such a frustrating and debilitating virus and illness to go through and definitely empathising having went through a tough time with it myself.
Just want to reassure you that this kind of thing can be normal, to feel like you are maybe making some progress and then feels like bam you are hit again. After maybe 6 months, although things weren't great still I did go back to work part-time, but then after 9 months I had to stop again for a month or two because just felt worse again and it got me so down and was so hard to cope with mentally as well as physically why I wasn't making the progress I desperately wanted to.
For me, I felt a real breakthrough after about 10 months and things really did start to get better after that, and although it still took some time to get to full recovery and body resilience again, I felt more human and was just so grateful that things were moving in the right direction.
So definitely want to reassure you 50 Shades that you will get there and will get through this, and these kind of ups and downs, this zig-zag nature of recovery is very normal inside the first year of this thing - and with time absolutely you will FULLY recovery. I remember thinking when going through it I could never see my body resilience returning or being able to cope with lots of activity or stress again, but the body has amazing powers of recovery (thanks to God) and with time you will get there and won't always feel how you feel right now - goodness knows this thing is so awful and intense when going through it, but hang in there, there IS hope and IS full recovery from this thing. I know you must be so fed up and weary and drained at this stage, like I was, but just continue to give your body time and space and rest - frustrating I know but definitely wise to do that - and you will get there!!
Taking vitamins and herbs really helped me in my recovery, a good strong multi-vitamin per day (Immunace Extra here in the UK is a good one), higher doses of Vitamin C (1000mg-3000mg per day), a B complex vitamin (great for energy levels and nervous system) and immune boosting herbs like siberian ginseng and echinacea.
Thinking about you and remember you will get breakthrough with this - I truly believe that given my own experience of the virus and how it goes.
