Mono Rash .... round two.

I posted about a month ago about a rash I was experiencing. Full body red, sore itchy glandular fever rash, that was NOT triggered by antibiotics.

It started clearing about 3 weeks ago and has been completely gone for 2 weeks! No itch! I felt normal apart from the fatigue,  but I’d rather fatigue than itch all day. Anyway... so I’ve been feeling really good, actually amazing considering.

Last weekend I began getting a minor infection in a new piercing in my ear, so without thinking, I took 1 antibiotic Saturday night and 1 antibiotic Sunday night. Well that was a mistake. Sunday I started developing a rash that was strictly isolated to where my clothing rubbed (under my bra and underwear) which spread and got bigger. By Monday/Tuesday I was covered again, in this stupid itchy sore red rash, that spread so quickly!! This time it spread onto my hands, feet and eyelids!!! Back to docs, back on steroids and seeking out natural therapies to help relieve and cure. How silly was I.

What did I learn? I will never ever take antibiotics ever again, EBV virus is still clearly very active in my system. Yay for mono and horrid rash.

Ps. The minor infection healed .. so I got a positive out of this negative 😂

    Hey Rks,

So sorry to hear that you've had this setback after making really good progress with the rashes healing - how frustrating this must be! Don't beat yourself up, you weren't to know that antibiotics were going to cause this, you were only doing what you thought would help the infection.

Just really hoping these horrible rashes settle down again soon and you can get back on track again - thinking about you and believing you're going to get over this tough time you've been through and back to full health again, thanks to God. Hang in there!
