Mono symptoms and sharing my story

Hello everybody,

I've been reading this forum for a while and I've found it very helpful, so I wanted to join the discussion to share my experience so far, hope this can be helpful to anyone.

I'm at month 6 of this journey with mono, or a mono like virus.

My symptoms so far have been : severe fatigue, depression, anxiety, dizziness, low grade fever, bloating, tingling, stiff or painful neck and low blood sugar sensation.

I did a couple of scan check and the doctor found enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and near the groin area.

Blood check for mono returned a value of 21 for IgM and 550 for IgG (this was after 4 weeks of the initial symptoms ).

Now I'm much better, and I've managed to get back to work, but I've to take care of my energy very, very carefully.

The stranger part is that I'm almost never hungry or thirsty but if i forgot to drink or eat the symptoms flare up (mainly tingling and low blood sugar sensation). However if I check my sugar level they are perfectly fine.

Has anyone had a similar experience to this one ?

Wish u the best and thank you very much for your support.

Tio

Im also at 6 months with mono & have the tingling & had the neck pain for a time but that has gotten better. Also have anxiety here & there but that also has gotten better. Not sure what low blood sugar feels like but I have this lightheaded feeling/balance issues but not dizzy, kind of like I thot how low sugar would feel. Had my blood sugar checked a few times & its always good. My biggest thing now is muscle weakness & still brain fog at times but not nearly as bad as it was. Hope it gets better for you soon!

Krave, when you say Muscle weakness, what do you mean? can you describe how your muscles feel? Are they shaky, has a doctor said you had clinical weakness? im just curious. My muscles all over are very shaky and i have nerve damage in both my legs.

Well my arms and legs feel weak, kinda jelly like/tingly and yeah Id say theyre shaky, it feels at times my legs would buckle but they havent anytime. When I go down steps my knees quiver with every step. My job is physically demanding and I havent worked in 6 months now and Ive lost quite a bit of muscle so Im not sure if its because Im not physically active right now or part of the virus. And no the doctor didnt seem too concerned about it.

Thank you Kravefanm hope it gets better for you too.

Does anybody else have symptoms that seems to be relieved by eating or drinking ?

Hello Tio, I had the same low level sensation that you're describing, but mine seemed to appear at random times.

I went to the pharmacy and they gived me one of those device for diabetics to check blood level, but I checked several times during the symptoms and the glucose level where fine, strange virus !

    Hang in there !
