Monocyte Count related to persisting symptoms?

Hello,

I am really new to this whole forum thing, but I did have a question about some symptoms I have been having, and if that correlates to results from a recent blood test.

Recently, I have had no appetite and constant bloating, stomach pain, fatigue, occasional flu symptoms, and sometimes joint pain as well. I am an otherwise healthy 18 y/o female so all of these things are pretty abnormal for me but I originally chalked them up to stress from college classes.

Eventually, after a couple weeks and no improvement, I met to my campus doctor (online) who ordered a blood test (CBC, checked organ function and thyroid). The results came back normal (yay!) but the one thing that was flagged on the test was my Monocyte percentage which was 10.3%. I don't really like to fall down the rabbit hole of googling my symptoms and trying to figure out what's wrong because I know that's the wrong way to go about it, but I was just wondering if anyone has some input.

I know that this level isn't particularly high, but I'm wondering if it is any cause for further examination? My absolute monocytes were normal so I'm assuming I'm good to go, but the symptoms aren't gone so I feel like I just want something to explain them at this point!

I also know that my doctor knows best, but our whole interaction has been over zoom so I have never been examined in-person for these issues or even met her face-to-face. Anyway, right now, I'm sort of struggling between wanting to listen to my body but also not wanting to make a big deal out of nothing.

If anyone could provide some insight into this it would be greatly appreciated!

Glad to hear ur results came back clear. I was having similar symptoms and chalked it down to stress. Nausea was terrible and I would vomit from time to time. After symptoms continued I asked the doc to run an h-pylori test as my wife had it a few years ago and never put things together. This turned out to be positive and docs also completed a endoscopy/colonoscopy which showed internal hemorrhoids and and possible celiac disease. Still running tests with docs but sure glad I have some answers to all my symptoms. Best of luck to u.
