monomorphic ventricular ectopy - catheter ablation

Hi,

About 4 years ago I had a bad bout of asthma and taking my inhalers gave me some unwelcome palpitations. At the time I was diagnosed with monomorphic ventricular ectopy (PVC). My lost beats have always been just above 10% and hasn't significantly worsened. I don't suffer from tiredness and nearly never notice my palpitations. I'm male, 50 years old and my cardiologist wants to carry out an ablation on my heart. After reading the bhf website it's got me very worried. It says there's a 1/500 chance of a disabling stroke or 1/1000 chance of death having the procedure. I'm really unhappy with the risks as my family rely on me heavily and the worst thing for them would be for me to become disabled or die. Does anyone know whether there are alternatives to the procedure or any complications I might suffer in not having it?
