Month long cold sore taking forever to fade away.

About a month ago, early in September, I felt a cold sore coming on on my lip. I put Abreva on it and it never fully developed and went away in a few days, but right next to it, on the skin next to my lip, another cold sore developed at the same time that I didn't catch until it fully broke out essentially overnight. It's been a month now. The sore itself has gone away, but it's taking forever to fully heal. I still have a little red mark next to my lip where the sore was, here's a photo image

It's more or less looked exactly like this for about two weeks now. Sometimes it seems a little lighter, sometimes it seems a little more red, it could honestly be my imagination. But I've never had a cold sore take this long to go away before, and I've been getting them my entire life. I'm getting very impatient, but should I just keep waiting? Should I maybe see a doctor since it's taken so much longer than all the websites recommend for a cold sore fading away? Is there anything I can put on it to help it heal faster? (Abreva doesn't seem to be much help once it's already burst). This is my first cold sore while having a significant other, and while they've been extremely understanding and patient, I miss kissing them so much and it's making this wait excruciating. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.
