Month post haemorrhoid surgery. Is this a fistula??

hi all!

I had my open haemorrhoidectomy 5th September 2023.

healing is going well I think.

no longer in serious pain, it is a little sore after a BM.

does anyone know if this little hole is a fistula or just needs to heal more? sorry its a little mucky not cleaned up yet.

its a tiny bit sore, a little leaky but not seriously so, and it doesn't smell.

i have a follow up with my surgeon in December.

any advice welcome.

    Hi Emma,

    It's hard to tell from the photo, but if you're concerned have an MRI done and that will give you an answer, or have your surgeon use a small rectal camera.

    Either way, I wouldn't wait until December.
