Mood changes - first 6 weeks on sertraline

hey - 18 year old guy here

So I have been 50 mg of sertraline for the past 6 weeks to treat anxiety and depressive symptoms. However, I feel as though throughout those weeks that my mood and anxiety has been quite up and down. It's frustrating because I then think I am finally getting better and the medication is working, only to feel like I'm in a dump again. For example the past days I had been feeling positive and motivated and today it was like my mood changed suddenly without any reason and I feel like many negative emotions are conquering me again, which had not been the case for several days.

I'm not really sure it is because the medication has not kicked fully in, or if I may need a higher dose. Also, I am worried that I might have some sort of mood disorder.

Medication is half the job, the other half is what you have to do to lower your anxiety and depression. These are helped by taking active steps against the anxiety and depression.
