More advice

I am currently using clobetasol for my burning raw skin but it only gives a bit of relief. I have not had any confirmed diagnosis as yet. My doctor has requested an urgent appointment for a specialist, but have no clue how long that will take. I have tried emuaid but cannot say I found any benefit and also a emulsifying cream. Any other suggestions? I also feel I still have uti as I need to go to toilet more than normal and is still strong smelling!! I have also been advised to take strong painkillers to help with pain and stinging. Feel as if I will never feel better .

Drinking a lot of fluid is perhaps helpful, thins the strength.  Try the baking soda/bicarbonate routine as well.  (rinse after every bathroom visit with a spray bottle, the kind women receive in the hospital after giving birth, fill with three pinches of baking soda/bicarbonate soda and warm water)  (take baking soda baths - 1/3 cup in a bath)

Start with an alkaline diet (no gluten, no sugar, no dairy, no alcohol, no caffeine)

    Questions - just ask.

Hi I find when my LS is bad it affects my toilet habits I have to go to wee a lot more and my ureatha is irritated. Personally I would stay away from pain killers as if your LS is connected to your gut which lots of times it is oral pain killers may make it worse. To help with the pain I would use a topical cream like lidocaine which is an anaesthetic this had helped my bad times would not recommend long term use. I don't what country your in but where I am I can buy lidocaine over the counter. Hope you get some relief xx

If wee is strong try taking vitamin B tablet my friend who is a carer advised this as she said I could have an acid bladder before I knew I had LS and it certainly helped. I use Hydromol every day which is very soothing and protecting when usung the loo. Hope this get better for you.

Cranberry juice is also good for urine and bladder problems

Make sure the urine - or any body fluids -is not in contact with your skin if it smells strong it is likely you are not drinking enough water. Try and make sure you empty your bladder fully. When you think you have finished weeing  relax and wee again - spraying with water may help - and add Hanny's bicarb to counteract the acidity - just a tiny amount. Try and use your own endorphins for pain relief - exercise - laughter - meditation - I understand mindfulness meditation is very helpful too

Take heart it will get better soon - have you watched Dr Goldsteins lecture?  the link is on the home page of the LS Patient website. Take a mirror and SEE what is happening to your undercarriage - good luck  - oh  and read the threads posted here over the past year  you will glean a lot of helpful tips
