More and more symptoms, but are they cost

Hi recently postly that I was newly diagnosed.  Over the weeked things were really bad, I have really tingly achy arms and fingers, not pins and needles but really deep stabbing in fingers, especially on left hand. Ibuprofen is helping, but am not really able to tolerate too many as have reflux.  Also noticed that it gets worse when resting and after eating I get a pressure like pain, this could be a new symptom of reflux, today my chest feels like I have a chest infection coming, but think it is all related, there are so many symptoms that mimic heart problems this is becoming a constant worry.  Also sorry my heart races sometimes.  All these problems started last year and have lots of heart tests all clear so loath to keep going to GP as they are starting to act like I am a nuisance., Would just like to know if anyone else has these symptoms so that I can stop panicking so much.

Hi, I also get the tingling, mainly in my finger ends but also sometimes my lips and face get it too. When I asked my GP if it could be linked to my costo/tietzes (they can't make their minds up which I have) I was pretty much laughed at. Only after trawling the internet did I reassure myself I wasn't going mad as others have experienced the same. I haven't found anything that works to releive the tingling though I'm afraid. I also have palpitations and chest pains, these can be anyting from sharp stabbing to dull aching, and can also be in various places. It can be scary and I do often worry that one day I may actually have a heart attack and just put it down to costo and not get help rolleyes

HI Loulou, that is exactly where my pain is in finger ends, it feels kind of like mild chilblains you had many years ago more than pins and needles. I have been having pains on and off for so long now and only just diagnosed properly, went for a boob check and GP pressed area and I nearly shot through the roof, so now I know what it is I am less worried, but like you us ladies have different heart attack symptoms to men and I am so worried that it will be one and I will just ignore it until it is too late. I just wish I could be pain free and stop being so anxious about my health all the time. One of the perks of getting older I suppose, although I am only 57 this year so hope to have many more years to annoy everyone. Like your little face thingy, do not know how to do them.

I went to A&E twice before I was diagnosed with costo/tietzes and both times I wasn't taken seriously and told i'd just pulled a muscle. I didn't even get examined or have an ECG and had to push my GP to send me for a scan. I have had one GP tell me that it'll probably remain with me on and off for the rest of my life and one GP that has said I'm highly unlikely to get a repeat "attack" of costo. I know it's not their fault but the fact that our GPs don't understand the condition doesn't help put our minds at ease when they're treating us. It's a viscious circle with the stress/anxiety too, as the more stressed you are the more intense the symptoms become. I can definitely see a pattern with stress and my flare ups. Not easy to remove stress from our lives though is it!

I have been lucky enough to have some tests as I was allergic to an antibiotic which sent my heart racing, so had ECG, then felt really ill out shopping and went to A&E had various tests, stress test, scan, ECG etc all normal. I do agree with the stress as I was really panicking on Saturday and the more I panicked about the pain, the more my heart raced it went from normal 75 resting to 99 aaahhhh, which freaked me and I felt what can only be described as if someone had poured cold water around my heart, but I am still here on Tuesday, so am just taking it all in my stride and accepting that there are lots of us out there. I also have osteoarthritis in neck from years of typing so GP said could all be related. Oh well, time to stop googling and make some dinner. Take care

Hi, I was having a breast check so was undressed, when I mentioned the pain she lifted my breast and pressed the bone underneath, I nearly shot through the roof, I knew it was painful as I had felt it myself, but she dug right in and the pain was unreal, a burning/stingy pain, it is all down the sternum and across top of breasts but not as bad as where the bra bands sits.

Is it a particular place under the breast on the bone, like directly under nipple ect, as I do have a pain when lifting breast and touching the bone wondered if it is the same place as yours x

Hi Dee, it is all along the ribs where your bra would sit, mine also goes all around the sides as well. If you feel down your sternum to where there is a gap where the ribs finish and press that on me is agony. It feel likes someone has put a really wide belt all around my chest area and pulled it tight. I hate this, but am trying to sit up straighter when working as I think being hunched does not help, I also use a heated wheat bag between breasts which also helps. Take care

The location varies on me from day to day (sometimes hour to hour) and will differ from person to person. Same as youngatheart, I also have pain around the sides and feel as though someone has pulled a belt around the chest. Wearing a bra can be very painful. I also find heat helps to ease things slightly. Sometimes walking can hurt and as you put a foot down it can jolt a pain in the chest, pressure isn't always necessary to figure out where the pain is stemming from.
