More trimalleolar problem?

Hi again .

now 7 weeks after surgery and had a new problem arise.

with the first of low winter temperatures this week I have noticed that my bad foot is ice cold, despite thermal socks doubled up and wrapping in a fleece blanket.

Is this due to nerve damage or circulation.?

The colour is good and I make sure I keep it moving.

But it's like a block of ice...I've tried massaging and will probably try a hot water bottle at some point..

has anyone else experienced this.?

Hello Christine, nearly 7 MONTHS after my operation, I am walking a lot and normally but the cold and damp weather is not kind to my ankle. It reacts to cold and humidity by swelling and getting uncomfortably stiff on the top of the foot.

I am guessing that at 7 weeks you re still non weight bearing? If this is the case your circulation in your feet is affected by the pressure that you are able to put on the bottom of your feet. When you walk and put weight on the bottom of your feet it helps force the blood that is in your feet back up through your legs at a quicker pace which therefore increases your circulation. I know this issue has not only caused my foot to feel cold, but I often feel like I have a sock wadded up in the arch of my foot.
