ive been suffering with anxiety for a few months now, i have panic attacks and my heart felt like it was beating out my chest today when it happend - my heart rate on my watch was really high! I cried on the way to work, then at work because i felt so uneasy and "weird" but cant even explain why im crying, i dont even know myself sometimes, i just feel fed up of feeling like this sometimes i think ! My anxiety seems to be the worst if im hungry and generally in the mornings, once ive had some dinner at work i usually feel a lot better. wondered if anyone else has experienced this? one day i didnt eat much for my dinner and that night i had a panic attack. it all seems to be linked. i havent been to the doctors yet but i think i might make an app x

I used to get very bad anxiety in the morning. Every day it felt as if I was going to die, then in the afternoon or evening I would feel okish. In my case it was so bad that I has to end up taking medication.
But I had never thought to relate it to lack of food. In which case maybe it's a blood sugar level thing. Maybe you could measure your sugar at different times of day. You can buy the readers on Amazon for about 20€ or less.

not glad that you suffered but glad someone else knows how i feel. i wake up at 5am every day and live through hell until about 4pm. im awoken with pounding chest and or weird internal trembling that comes with painful adrenaline rushes. if i try to go back to sleep the adrenaline (cortosil?) wakes me as soon as i start to sleep, its torture. i have to get up and sit stare at the floor in panic convinced im never going to get better. i try to distract myself but cant move. i started sertraline 7 weeks ago but doesnt seem to be helping. hoping its early days. has your meds helped? ive been like this every day since September and am exhausted now, can go on much longer.

Yes, my meds did help. I was put on Gabapentin for anxiety (as I can't take benzos) and Mirtazapine. I was initially put on Sertraline too, in my case I have to say it made me much worse, the anxiety became totally intolerable.
I still have some form of anxiety (health anxiety) but at least now I can function.
Maybe you could ask your doc about trying another med, sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss.
Good luck x

I have read that our cortisol levels are naturally higher in the morning and this is one explanation for anxiety at this time of day.
