Hi everyone just wondering if anyone else experiences the dreaded morning anxiety with the peri menopause!?
I wake up ok then the intrusive thoughts start causing a vicious circle of general anxiety and health anxiety.
It can actually ruin the whole day!
i am laid up with a urine infection so more time to think i guess! God this is a nightmare!

Hi Elaine,
I have terrible morning anxiety. I am in menopause. I have always had anxiety, but since starting meno it has been worse, especially in the morning. Keeping busy really does help. I am also working with a psychiatrist to find a medication that I can tolerate. Lately my anxiety has been in over drive. I had some post meno bleeding and have a doctor's appointment Saturday to investigate this. This has happened to me before and thankfully it was nothing. I am saying my prayers that it will be nothing this time as well. Are you seeing anyone regarding your anxiety? Like I said, I have had anxiety and OCD all my life. I am a firm believer in going to therapy. It really does help.

Hey Elaine...
I am post-menopausal, and have been for four years. Having said that, I, too wake up with anxiety, yet once I get my day started and take my vitamins, it subsides somewhat, and I am able to get through the day. I am CONVINCED, anxiety is one of the main symptoms countless women experience, when they go through the three menos. Hence, I had it in perimenopause, menopause, and I am still having it post-menopause. It is absolutely horrific! The intrusive thoughts are a FORCE to be reckoned with, they come from out of nowhere, and I think they are directly correlated to anxiety. Make sure you drink a lot of water, and it doesn't necessarily have to be ice cold, I drink room temperature water. Do the things that make you HAPPY and bring JOY to your life, my menopausal sistah, simply because menopause doesn't go away quietly! It is NOT the change, it is a friggin TSUNAMI!
