Morning anxiety

Hi, I've been waking up feeling

anxious for the past two months. I'm 42 and have suffered with anxiety since being a child. My doctor increased my sertraline to 100mg last year and it helped a lot. But lately I've been struggling everyday. I try to practice deep breathing when i wake up and it usually passes by lunchtime. My problem is its making me feel like a failure. I help my daughter run her baking business and at the moment were extremely busy (usually working at least 12 hours a day). I also feel like I'm the only person feeling like this (obviously I know I'm not) and just wanted to reach out and chat with people like me.

    Hi,

Can I just ask if you're a female. I ask this because I am and around your age I started with perimenopause symptoms and one of the symptoms I had was this terrible anxiety on waking. I too have had anxiety most of my life, but this was on another level and I finally had to give in to taking medication which I didn't want to.

Hi, yes i am female. Thats interesting that you mention peri menopause because ive read quite a bit on it and did wonder! I also wake up freezing cold every morning, does this happen to you? When you say medication is that anxiety meds or for perimenopause?
