Morning soda pain

Posted , 2 users are following.

This morning I drank a mouthful of soda while waiting on my coffee, I had not eaten anything and felt hungry. Once I swallowed had this horrible pain. I laid down so I wouldn't fall down. That didn't really help and the pain with now in my chest, abdomen, and upper back. I was sweating and dizzy having a hard time breathing. I was able to get up after a minute but still feel the abdomen, chest, and back pain half an hour later. Having some nausea but the sweating has stopped. I won't be trying this again but I'm not sure if this is something I should contact my physician about ( probably just to get told "well in that case dont drink soda anymore").

Update, tried eating. After swallowing the first bite having a milder version of that first pain, still bad though.

Because of the sudden onset of pain after one mouthful of soda I would be inclined to contact my GP and just get checked out to be on the safe side but in my humble opinion I would say that the fizzy drink on an empty stomach possibly met up with wind coming up and it can cause the most horrendous pain in all the locations you mentioned including the upper back, I have had it but I'm told to stretch and walk about, let me know how you get on

Stretching and walking helped to where there was just a mild ache, until I tried to eat lunch, even small bites and sips of water cause pain.

Then you need to definitely get off to see your GP have you a chemist nearby that you can see and also get something like gaviscon
