Morton's Neuroma Post Nerve Sensations

So I am wondering for those who have had the surgery, when you massage the bottom of your foot, do you feel the nerve twinge, kinda shock a little when you press on the pad of the foot where the cut nerve end is. Does this sensation go away? So far when I walk I do not feel it but I do when I touch the area. I know, this makes me think of the situation at the doctors office.

Me: Hey doc, it hurts when I touch it.

Doctor: Well don't touch it!

LOL, I am just wondering if that feeling will get less and less as time goes by?

I haven't had this surgery (yet) but have a couple questions for you...the doc says if I take that nerve out (mine is between 3 and 4 toes) I will have permanent numbness in those toes.  Are you experiencing this and if so, is it a problem for you?  Thanks for any help!
