Motor oil in wound?

hi all,

Yesterday whilst at work i dropped a brake caliper and trapped my finger between it and a steel gear on the floor. Ouch. It was a big brake caliper too as i work on very heavy machinery.

The cut is in the top half of my finger, and i think it initically formed a blood blister. I was wearing gloves at the time and carried on working after a couple of minutes and checked out my cut later.

Im worried i may have got dirt/oil from the machine into my cut as i was working later on that day without gloves on so I washed my hands after that and put a plaster on the cut. Went home and put some anticeptic cream on it and a new plaster.

Now ive woke up this morning and its a real struggle to bend my finger, in fact I cant without extreme pain.

My forearm and inner elbow hurt aswell but i think thats due to strenuous work from yesterday.

Anyway, do you think it will be infected? Should i just keep an eye on it or go to the doctors incase of a break etc?

    I have a medical background.

You need to see your Doctor ASAP or go to the ER. Sounds to me that it is infected and if your arm and elbow hurts. In 2015 we almost lost our Daughter to Sepsis shock (blood poisoning) due to a small cut near her ankle. Now she is fine, but she spent 9 days in ICU fighting for her life.

    Don’t wait any longer.
