Mountain hiking and disoriention (sort of dizzy)

Posted , 2 users are following.

This has happened twice in the last two weeks.

I'll be hiking on a mountain, with the decline to my left (hill to my left) and I am walking on a flat path, and I feel disoriented.

But when the decline is on my right (hill to my right) I feel fine (again, flat path).

Why do I feel like I am going to fall over when this happens, I start to feel unsteady on my feet. I wouldn't say I feel dizzy, I just feel like I am going to fall, like my whole world is tilting. It does feel like vertigo and does make me feel a little nauseous.

The path is narrow, about two people in width.
