Movicol

Posted , 4 users are following.

I am constipated right now and have had one sachet of Movicol since Monday. So that's 5 doses of Movicol. I have been waiting for a big bowel movement but so far it's not happened. So at 12.45pm today I took 2 Movicol instead. 10.07pm now and still nothing has happened. Is this normal? Am I expecting too much too soon? Getting worried now that nothing is going to get me moving.

Anyone else have such problems with Movicol or is it just that it takes a while to work?

Thanks for listening.

I have used A. Vogel Linoforce Granules from holland and Barrett before and they really worked for me..

Thanks for your idea aj42778. I will certainly keep those granules in mind.

I see that this was posted a couple of weeks ago, so I hope you've found relief. But just in case - Try taking 1 sachet every hour or two - up to 8 sachets a day. Keep drinking water. Eventually the dam will burst! Good luck.

Hi ronne, Thanks for your message. I have been to the loo now thanks and am no longer Constipated. However I can't understand why I have very little urge sensation so I am just going when I always did, first thing in a morning. Or I look for clues when I go for a wee too. Also the consistency of my bowel movements has altered though it's not waterery or like diarrhoea or anything. Also, whilst I am no longer Constipated, I don't feel like my bowel has been completely emptied. So I may use the Movicol again. Thanks for your idea. :-)
