have you decided what you are going to change too?
maybe stick to an SSRI so withdrawals arent as bad and hopefully one will work because citalopram did x

I dont think their was any reason for it to stop working tbh it can just happen. it's pretty common.
a few years ago I went through a really messy break up and was absolutely fine and it still worked. I thought it would stop working then but was fine. then 6 months ago I had no stress whatsoever and my depression and anxiety came back.
I have to drop down to 20mg of CIT for a week, have a day off and start the sertraline and no citalopram. its gonna be rough. wbu?

i did not realise it was common
i dont feel any better from 20mg either been on them years
i am back to docs thursday
did thsy say any side effects ?
Potatoghost deblou45
Posted
yeah it's called tachyphylaxis or something. just means you can become tolerable after years and it doesn't have the same effect anymore.
any side effects coming off citalopram
or starting sertraline?
deblou45 Potatoghost
Posted
ahhh i thought they would never stop working
both will you hsve side effects of sertralime

withdrawals can be really nasty I'm not gonna lie. but if you swap over the withdrawals wont be half as bad rather than going cold turkey. that I never advise doing.
yeah the exact same side effects as citalopram
you might get a few you might get none at all. some are lucky with sertraline.
you may feel worse before you feel better x
