brain picks up the wrong signals from the nervous system so this is why we have so many symptoms that dont show up in any tests

simply because the nervous system isent functioning proberly , but test still have to be done incase fibro is hiding something  esle.

i have constant pain and at the moment crushing fatigue

which is driving me mad , the shooting pains are normal for fibro sufferers i often sitting on the sofa and for no reason my body starts to twitch and jump and you cant control it . unless it becomes botherson just ignore it mine comes and goes

I am frustrated with the fact that they say Fibro is a syndrome where the brain doesn't read the signals correctly, but before I damaged my neck I was in very good health and fitness.......... so why all of a sudden does my "Brain" not work properly. It doesn't make sense to me I have hurt my neck so fix the damn thing please.....but all they do is say that I have to many symptoms for it to be down to my neck injury.......aggggghhhhhh.

      Steam released again

your neck is one of the worst places to damage as it is at the top of your spinal chord  .. fibro normaly starts after a injury or illness  .mine started after my hyesterectomy got worse after a falll several weeks later then i as i was recovering from that i was hit by flu and never really been well since .

look into complex pain syndrome .

like i said pain it self does not exsist it is only perseved by the brain thru senasation transfered to the nervous system ie the spinal chord to the brain . if you think about people who loose a limb  often claim that they pain in it but its not there ,so how can it be . the brain is getting it wrong .thats why .

Apparently Fibromyalgia Syndrome-(autoimmune issue)  attacks us after we have had a shock or trauma to our system, mine started after a horrific shock to my system..not diagnosed of course for years.-the norm...I know of people who have it because of an operation or other trauma to their health...it's just one of those mysterious wonders!! One day it will all come to light..I'm sure...have a lovely day graham..be blessed:-) xxx

    Hi Khari

My husband takes Naproxen for inflammation which he gets when his gout flares up, and act as a pain killer.

I personally don't take meds but understand with Fibro the different kinds of pains felt are different for all. I have experienced stabbing pains mainly in my back and have shooting pains which travel from the shoulder down the arms and into the hands. At the moment the area on the back of the hand near the thumb on both hands is very tender and ever so painful.

My bloods showed nothing apart from being low on vit D and low iron but all have been rectified through supplements of iron and vit D tablets.

Unfortunately with Fibro you need to be stress free and staying calm and positive and only do things that is suitable for you.

Take one day at a time. Hope you get the answers you require to help you on this forum.

    Take care and gentle hugs.

the oppersite to feeling pain with out a trauma like in fibro sufferers

is called CIPA congenital insensitivity to pain where your not aware of the truma or illness .

this might sound good to fibro sufferers but also brings its problems .as the person is unaware of temperture or sickness or even needing the toilet or of hunger i believe as these are or signals telling us what we need to do . with out them we have no such help so as it would be lovely not to suffer toothache muscle pain etc . it is far mor dangerous .

Hi, it is most truly costochondritis, an inflammation in your rib cage. You can feel it in the arms, the hands, shoulder, back, it moves around and can be very annoying. Even the neck and cheeks can be affected. Normal anti inflammatory pills and gels help me, but I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. I read somewhere that 60-70 percent of those who have fibro, have Costo as well. That's how I found out that I probably have fibro, not "only" Costo. But be calmed, Costo is not life threatening just painful and annoying. For me, I can't have my daily walks, the rib cage starts aching immediately, even eating gives me rib cage ache. Hmmm😁

Hi, Still probably Costo. I'm seein a chiropractor now and he is getting my rib cage moving again. The treatment is painful and probably irritates the fibro, but I can feel some results after 2 treatments. My cough is different, getting more lose stuff up. The more dry cough is gone. He says that is a good thing. He says the worst should be over in 3-4 weeks...

Well, so far I'm happy and hope he knows what he is doing...He is good, At least a chiropractor knows what Costo is. I went to an osteopath, she didn't know, she just pressed her fingers on my back when I was lying on my back, it's called sacrocranial or something. I stopped going there and started at the chiro again. The bad thing it's expensive, I have to pay every penny from my own pocket. I'm going to go there now twice a week for 6 weeks to start with. But if it helps it's worth it
