Well many of you out here were very helpful as a few weeks ago I was awaiting to have medical insurance.
Well I am happy to say as of Nov. 1st got Medical Insurance and things are moving forward.
November 1st bloodwoork was done and all came out good.
November 3rd had a doctor appointment and he sent me in for 19 x-rays for both hips, pelvis and back.
November 11th I got my results showing I need a THR on my right leg. No suprise considering the amount of pain I am in and lack of mobility. Left hip showed moderate wear and back had degenerative arthritis and syiatica and etc.
November 18th consultaion visit with oral surgeon to remove a broken tooth before surgery.
Today November 19th I had a MRI on both hips. The pain was really hard for me being in the MRI machine for 1 hour. My leg was in so much pain not moving I just kept praying and moaning. I had taken a pain pill before but did not touch it. I was at a level 9 in pain.
Now Friday Novemember 21st I go in for another MRI on my back. This time my time in the machine will be 30 minutes. More pain.
Monday November 18th I have a appointment with the Orthopetic Surgeon for a counstation. He will look at my xrays and MRI's.
Tuesday Novemeber 19th I return to my MD doctor for MRI results.
December 2nd Tooth Extraction
Wow for not having insurance for so many years i am grateful to moving forward to this.
My hip replacement may be in December or January. Maybe around Christmas.
Well just wanted to put everyone up to date since i was out there earlier and so many took intrest to share with me. Thank you all for listening.

Evelyn,
Good luck with your surgery. Please just make sure your surgeon comes highly recommended. It makes a huge difference in the outcome. I had my surgery 7 wks ago at Pinehurst Surgical in Pinehurst, NC. They did it as outpatient and minimally invasive. I went in at 11 am, my surgery was at 1pm and I went home early the next morning. My incision was only seven and a half inches long and is barely visable now. My surgery took about 45 min. My surgeon is highly respected and extremely talented and I thank God everyday I found someone so skilled. I was off the pain meds at two weeks, driving at three and mowing the yard at five! However, I did get in really good shape before the surgery, which helped my speedy recovery tremendously. Good luck!

Thank you Kathee, I so wish I could get in shape but I can't even walk without a cane and sometimes use two canes. And then it is only in the house. I hope in my recovery I will be able to get back what I have lost.

I haven't heard the term "super path". Mine was called minimally invasive and my incision was between my hip and buttock (vertically). Seven and a half inches long. This was a great place to make the incision because it's out of the way, so to speak, except on the toilet. The scar is about the width of a pencil line now. They glued it so no stiches on the outside. Maybe super path means the same thing as minimally invasive. I'll google it.

I wasn't as bad as you sound to be. I just hobbled around for a year trying to stay off that leg(hip). Favoring it for so long really made my leg weak. Work on your upper body if you can (light weights sitting down) so it will be easier to carry your weight and try to be at the weight you should be. Even ten pounds makes a big difference. A few weeks before my surgery I found an orthopedic website that had pre-hip surgery excercises, they are pretty much the same ones they will give you after words. You do them laying down and they are very gentle but effective. But you can only do what you can do and should not do anything that hurts you. I also take daily 1200 mg of fish oil, great anti inflammatory, 1000 mg of Ester C, this heals the body, and a whey protein drink with BCAA which repairs the muscles. Plus I try not to eat processed foods. I know this may sound extreme to some, but I wanted to be back to good as quickly as possible. I am far from being as good as new, but everyday I feel better and very impressed with my own recovery. I was sick of not being able to live my life. I've always been into health and nutrition so doing these things came easier for me than most. Evelyn, it will take time for you to heal, but you have a positive attitude and that is half the battle.
I know you will do great!

I researched Super Path and I did not have that. Close but not quite. It sounds awesome! There are only 17 doctors in the entire US that do the procedure because it's so new. Hopefully that will become the norm soon. I really tried to find the least invasive surgery I could, and I did in my area. I still see people with incisions so long they have to have 36 clamps in them. With the Super Path there are also no restrictions. Now that's my kind of surgery! Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

You have some great points as I am also making better choices in my eating. Tell me what is BCAA in protein powder?
Oh and do you have a website for the excercises you found online? Surgery is this month for me.
Thank you,
Evelyn
