Moviprep side effects

I had my first colonoscopy on the 29th December and was given moviprep as my laxative. I was poorly on the 28th with vomiting and diarrhoea but the diarrhoea would work in my favour as it would help me be even cleaner ready for my colonoscopy. Anyway I felt fine after ate some toast and returned to my normal diet that evening, now a few days post procedure I seem to be getting very bloated after every meal, and thought my stools were beginning to return to normal until today, it sounds like there's a tsunami going on inside my guts and it's as if I've taken moviprep all over again sad could anybody suggest what could be wrong whether I've caught another bug or I'm still suffering from after effects and what I can do to help myself please!?

Hi holly. I had a colonoscopy and a ct colonoscopy a couple months ago! To be honest I didn't feel right until couple weeks after! Thankfully the results came back normal! Think it's stress related !

The prep has probably irritated your bowel and the bloating may be from the air that they pump into your bowel during the procedure.  Go back to your doctor if your side effects continue and tell them about your reaction to the prep.  If you ever need a colonoscopy again, you may need to use a different laxative that is not so harsh.
