Sounds like possible nerve damage, the only way to find out is seek a Neurosurgical opinion, get referred by GP asap, and see what the Neuro specialist states, and ask him how he thinks it occurs.
Usually this sort of thing wears off within three months, and gets back to normal, it is now 6 months so if there is nerve damage you need to know if nerve has started to regenerate in the last six months which can still hold out hope for you.
Hope this helps. Dot

Soorry to hear you're having problems with your hands. My spinal operation left me with poor sensation in my legs and feet and loss of balance. All I can say is that it seems as though some nerves to your arms are being squeezed somewhere. I hope you can get an appointment with a neurologist. I've had some chiroptractic treatment privately which has helped a bit. I went to a McTimoney one, which is more gentle than the standard one. Afraid it's not cheap, but if you can afford a few sessions it may help. Best wishes
