MRI question, can anyone help?

Hello, my name is Jenn..Not sure if I am in the right discussion group, but I have a question about MRI scans.  I had a MRI scan of a pancreatic cyst and the report said it was "non enhancing".  Does anyone one know what this means I can't seem to get any info I can understand.

Hi Jennifer - my guess would be that "non enhancing" means they are most likely non-cancerous. The MRI showed the area around the cyst did not have any more or any less blood flow.  I had a PET SCAN for the same reason for a nodule on my lung and they referred to them as "hot spots" that were non existent.  I'm not a pathologist or doctor and I'm just giving you my best guess based on my experiences with MRI's, CT Scans and PET.. Were you injected with a dye, I'm assuming?

My first thought was that it meant you did not have contrast dye used in the test. But that's just a guess.
