MRI Result

In my previous postings I spoke about pudendal nerve neuropathy and foot neuropathy. I saw a neurologist who prescribed LYRICA. I had to stop it after 10 days due to side effects. i had blood work and an MRI done in the last week and a half. Blood work was good. The lower lumbar MRI showed a perineural cyst and an annular tear. I am wondering if either of these findings are pressing on nerves that are causing these horrible issues. If anyone has any thoughts, please let me know. Also, the neurologist never called me regarding the blood work and MRI. I obtained the results thru the hospital's website under patient portal.

I am a retired physician /radiologist - yes, either of these findings could and likely might be the cause of your symptoms. Please define or describe in detail a peri-neural cyst - where is it? These can be any size and a large one could certainly explain your symptoms. Please understand that in reality, doctors are making educated guesses. I would deal with the cyst first since it might be easiest to deal with, but, you may have to deal with both problems ultimately. A torn annulus can heal on its own with enough time but the cyst is probably not going to resolve on its own.

The cyst was noted in the left neural foramen. Thank you for reply.

I don't know if it is a perineural cyst or a synovial cyst in that location but either needs to be addressed
