There is degeneration in my neck but nothing surgical. I'm just finally happy that i got results where surgery wasn't involved. I know i have a bad back and i just need to continute to accept it. It does feel like I'm 90 years old though. lol

Funny I was under a rheumatologist, who said there was no compression and just stick to pain relief and physo no need for operation. Did not trust his judgement due to my pain and symptoms. Had my self referred to a neurosurgeon at a private hospital via the nhs . It turns out the problem is worse than the 1st consultant s opinion and I've seen scan picture s this time so it obvious it's not good. Operation has been discussed with latest consultant for spinal fusion in the new year. Onset I've learnt not to always trust the opinions of some health professionals. Doctor s hold the purse strings, i.e. So a consultant is not going to blow his budget on operation s if he can get around it. There's a possibility you may need one in the future with yr condition. Fingers crossed u don't.

Surgery is not always the answer Jessica, avoid it like the plague if you possibly can, and stick with the physio route.
You will still need physio and pain relief after a fusion.
I wish I hadn't jumped in so fast, thinking it was going to be a miracle cure.

Ur right is not but when all else fails . It may be .yes I may be on meds forever and I physo. But my last emergency op 3 yr ago for a discectomy. I was not offered any after care such as physo this particular consultant didn't believe in it 🤔🤔 . Believe me I do not want a op, but when yr quality of life is terrible and yr constantly in chronic pain , what have got to loose.also there are many successful operations to. People who it goes well for will say I've never looked back, then there are those who it didn't quite go so well for , say I'll never do it again . So it's a case of maybe it will may be it wont

I hear you. After 35 years of regret, I wouldn't have it done again.

See, this would be my worst fear! they told me to go to a physiatrist and i just said i was sick of going to doctors appointments and stuff, but for my health i probably should just in case. like i feel the same way, where the pain is i just don't feel like i even needed the cervical MRI and i needed a thorasic one because the pain is in between my shoulder blades. I figured they knew what they are doing because they are doctors. I hope everything goes smooth for you! i know i will be having more surgeries in the future, unfortunately. I feel like my back gets much worse every year.

They should realistically do ur whole spine . Unfortunately with deteration each ur will get worse. Do u take vitamin D . Not going to make u magically better . But may help a little give it a wk or so to get in yr system. If anything it might lift yr moral 👍
