MRV (migraineous related vertigo)

After lots of tests including balance and hearing tests and an MRI scan last year, I was diagnosed with MRV and take 30mg Nortrtptyline daily. Despite this I still don't feel 'right' and not sure what to do. My consultant discharged me. My main problem is when I'm walking, I can feel that I'm off balance, being pulled to one side (usually the left) and I sometimes fear I'm going to faint or collapse which then causes me to panic and start getting palpitations. I can't think what is causing these sensations. Is there anyone who has similar to mine?

Does anyone know what other medication is out there for this? i am on Nortryptyline and have been for a year now but i don't think it's working for me anymore. I do have a follow up hospital appointment about this soon so i can discuss it with the doctor but just wondered if anyone is taking other types of medication? thanks

I am due to see the doctor next week for my follow up appointment relating to my MRV. I am taking Nortryptyline tablets for this but although my dizziness has improved, it's still not right so i will mention this to her. My unsteadiness/dizziness seems to be frontal head related (like a swaying motion) and sometimes i wake up with a frontal (sinus) type headache. Does anyone relate to this? what do you do about it? thanks

The headache is a migraine symptom. Over 90% of what people think are sinus headaches are actually migraines.
I hope your appointment goes well!

I have similar symptoms. Have you had any luck?
I think it's a virus that no one knows how to test or treat. I'm hypersensitive to pressure changes due to bad weather and altitude. My sinuses/head feel like they will explode when it rains. I have a choking sensation in my throat, and I am off balance with the sensation of being on a rocking boat. Only massage around my head, neck, and collar bone has helped. My Drs just shrug when I suggest a virus and say it should have run its course by now (it's been 6 months). I recently got put on nortriptyline by a neurologist. MRI, CT scan, and vestibular test were all normal which they then considered migraines/increased cerebrospinal fluid pressure. If the nortriptyline doesn't work they will do a lumbar puncture to see what the pressure is. I'm going to see if I can take an antiviral medicine before that.
