MS, ALS or something else......?

Hi I am a 37 y/o male. A few weeks before Christmas I started having muscle soreness in both arms and every so often in my legs as well. I have also had strange sensations in my head as well as a very itchy scalp and skin crawling feeling in my head as well. All of these symptoms come and go sometimes I have them for a week and then nothing for several weeks then have them again for a couple of weeks then nothing for a few days then back again.

I also started having pins and needle type feelings in both cheeks that come and go and now have not had those symptoms for several weeks. Then started having the sore feeling in my wrists which have now gone away.

I have seen my regular doctor who is currently treating me for Lyme disease however I have had no blood work or scans done. I took all the antibiotics my Dr. gave me and all the symptoms stopped for several weeks, they have now started back. Also the symptoms seem to be less and most of the time go away completely at night and also first thing in the morning.

I also have been diagnosed with ABPA, GERD and a large hiatal hernia. I am also currently taking prednisone,(5mg a day) and 1000mcg of b12.

One other thing, yesterday whenever I would stretch my leg muscles to a certain place the muscle would start trembling which I have never had before either. Maybe I'm freaking out over nothing. It's just I know I'm not my normal self and I need some answers. While I'm thinking about it just some additional info. Back in November I ended up in the ER with some food stuck in my throat they did an endoscopy to make sure all the food had gone down. A couple of days after I could barely move I chalked it up to being one of the side effects of the anesthesia then about 2 weeks later is when all this started. Don't know if the 2 are related or if its just coincidence but if there is anyone at all who has experienced this or could give me some insight it would help me tremendously! Thanks!

Hi sorry about your experience. I would recommend that you start a journal, for your symptoms, I have MS but MS is different for each person, for me it has shown up as lose of sight 4 times now, I have had muscle spasms in the most unusual odds places, my face, neck, upper arms, and round my rib cage ( ms hug) trust me it is no hug it should have been named the ms crusher, muscle spasms in my toes, fingers and the usual hamstring cramp but I also have muscle cramps in the front of my thighs and shins, I stumbled when I walk like a drunk. I cry for no reason I'm in no distress, nor am I sad. This is my journey your may be so very different. If you don't get the answers from one neurologist, Go see another it took me 20 yrs because I didn't keep looking for the right Dr and know the damage is permanent. Good luck and god bless you and your efforts to find answers

Thank you for your response. I am also sorry about your health problems as well. I am normally a very active and somewhat carefree individual but my symptoms have turned me into someone that i dont recognize any more. I am making an appointment with my regular doctor and will be asking for a referrel to a neurologist. If there is anyone else who can help me out I would be most appreciative and the biggest thing that I ask for is prayer.
