MS without lesions? Is it possible?

Hey all.

I've posted all over this site for possible reasons such as fibromyalgia and neuropathy; and spine; and MS; and now my neurologist has me back to MS.

I always felt like I matched the symptoms anyway (vertigo, blurred vision, gait disturbance, electric shock) but after a years worth of testing, this is my last stop - spinal tap.

There have been no lesions on my brain or entire spine and my neuro told me today that she is basically lost. She said that I'm in the age group for MS so that's what she's looking at.

I'm disheartened as its been an extremely tiring and long year. I've had so many tests.

Does anyone else have experience with no lesions but possible MS? I have no one in my family with MS either.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Hayhue

Ive been in three car accidents since 2019, none of which were my fault but I was rear ended badly in all 3 an suffered major whiplash, neck an back injuries. I was first diagnosed with fibro in 2019 after my first car accident. My left side of my face an left arm were going numb but they said it was due to Thorasic Outlet Syndrome which I had surgery for. ( basically the seatbelt crushed my shoulder an stopped all blood flow through my arm to an back to my heart)

2020 rearended again, just neck pain but now i was having electric shock sensations running down my neck. 2021 rearended again this time my feet went instantly numb. By the following week my fingertips on my right hand were going numb an my left arm from the elbow down were going numb. my legs also started to tingle an feel weird. two weeks later my face felt tingly like you just opened the dryer door. All the time im still getting the electric shocks going down my neck with flexion since last year,it comes an goes. I have brain fog, forgetting simple words, urinary an bowel issues. Im so tired all the time. My brain, neck an spine mri all came back no lesions. I was shocked, my gyno, an neck surgeon thought for sure it would be positive. My neuro was on the fence. I dont know what to think or do. its hard when you have family telling you to push forward an move on an try to get your life back but you can when your body is acting this way.
