MTX and hair falling out

If I lose my hair from taking methotrexate will it grow back? I am starting on my second month and noticed a lot of hair loss lately. If it will grow back, I'm not to worried about it. I am not having any other adverse reactions and want to give it a chance to work. After 5 months of pain I welcome the relief it seems to be giving me. smile Also I found out I have stenoisis of the lower spine which is causing me to have drop foot. Will I have to stop taking methotrexate if they do surgery? (which I think they will, I go to the neurosurgeon Friday) and how long do you have to be off it before surgery? Dang I hate to interrupt my progress!

About your hair... some will grow back but not all, in my experience. I came down to 10mg and the fall has stropped and it doesn't look as bad as it did a year ago.

Sorry, I can't help with the rest of your post.

Hi River, I was not on meth but something else from the same family. Sorry about your hair. Most of my hair grew back. Not all of it though. It does not look the same anymore, but people do not seem to be able to spot anything unusual. Plus, we all change... If it works for you RA-wise, great. Give it a chance. There are lots of tricks that you can do to make hair look better - hairdressers are long known for being best girls'/boys' friends :-) Don't know about your other questions... :-(

Yes, I support what Ama has said. We notice everything about our heads because we have to look at it every day in the mirror. But most other people don't notice that missing hair.

And hairdressers and products can work wonders.

More important is that you have a pain free life.
