MTX injection wearing off quickly

I've been injecting MTX intramuscularly for a few weeks and noticed it seems to wear off well before I'm due for my next weekly jab, can anybody advise if subcurateous injections last longer?

Tony - Had that exact same arguement with my GP, specialist prescription says subcutanous,  and GP when showing me how to inject myself  injected into the muscle, and told me its makes no difference.

So whats the conculsion I have come to, I inject into the middle of my thigh, between knee and groin, and slide the needle into a fold of skin sideways rather than straight down into muscle, so I suppose that to be subcutanous.

Only area i can grab with my left hand while holding needle in right hand, cannot manage any other area, ie top of arm, due to lack of ability to bend arms, wrists, and fingers enough.

Dare I say arthritis, and my hands and wrists are some of the worst affected joints. amazing enough I can still type quiet well, while holding my wrists straight.

Perhaps pointing these so called medical professionals toward sites like this would be beneficial, there appears to be enough anecdotal evidence to suggest they really don't have much of a clue. MtX makes very little difference for as does prednisone and hydroxychloriquine and sulphasalizine made me so sick I had to stop. Initially the RA affected my wrists and forearms, in three months it's moved to two fingers, thumb, elbows and neck; unfortunately, I still have three months before I can start on biologics which the Rheumatologist says I will need, hate to think what I will be like in another three months..
