MUA at 4 months post TKR

Has anyone had this done after TKR in the UK.  How do you feel afterwards?  I assumed (maybe wrongly) everything would be much better.  Already thinking ahead to booking  myself onto a spin class after a few weeks but am I being a bit too optimistic?

    Hi

I am 12 weeks post TKR this Friday and will be having a MUA as I have only got a ROM of 80 and Extension 4. Saw my consultant a couple of weeks ago and he strongly suggested MUA. I am hoping that it will do the job and I will have better ROM by the end of it all.  I will come back here and let everyone know how it goes and keep an update of my progress so others will know what to expect...but I suppose everyone is different.

    Regards

    Wayne

I'm 10 weeks post op, my bend is good at 115 but extension is -10 still.

What have they said about your extension? Is this something they will address at the MUA. Or is that just for the bend?

Hi not sure what you mean about extension.  From a sitting position I can straighten the leg.  My surgeon only seemed concerned about lack of bend.

Yes extension is straightening. My leg was bent before so guess that's why it's taking longer.

      Hi debs

I just want to say I think this forum is fantastic.  Going through TKR is a huge thing to experience and despite reassurances from physios its really comforting to know I am not alone in my fears and doubts and that there are others out there who are all going through it and are happy to share their experiences and pass on some good advice.  So pleased I found this forum.  I will definitely post how I get on with my MUA next week.

Like Wayne, I am having a MUA this Friday at 12 weeks.  My ROM is -5/100.   I just talked to a friend of mine that had his MUA at 6 months after his TKR (plus they went in with a scope to make sure that got all the scar tissue).   He said it helped some but he thinks his problem is tight hamstrings in that leg.
