Mua yesterday. Help?

hi everyone

i had mua on my frozen shoulder yesterday.

Oh my god the pain!  I've been given physiology Fo Monday and some exercises to do between now and then but I'm struggling. I can't even dress myself at the moment. Is this normal straight after?

The doc said he got full range of movement when I was under so he is hopeful. However when I am trying to stretch now there isn't much more movement than there was before. I am wanting too much too soon?  I know its going to be a long load. But with a demanding 10 month old I'm just wanting to know if what I am experiencing is normal?

And advice or tips?

    Hi

I'm brand new here.  I was in a bad car accident in August.  They had to use the jaws of life to get me out.  I took the impact of the other car (going 60 mph) on my left side.  I was diagnosed with a broken collar bone.  The collarbone healed, but in October my arm started to freeze.  I went through Physical Therapy from the very beginning (while still in a sling with the broken collarbone). I'll never forget when my arm/shoulder started to freeze.  Wow the pain, and sleep was impossible.  I'm now to the point where the pain isn't as bad, and I can sleep some.  The problem is that my Physical Therapist said I've hit a plateau and there isn't anything left she can do to help me.  My orthopedic doctor wants to do the MUA that you just had.  I'm scared because of the pain, plus they said it's possible to rebreak your collar bone having this surgery.  Do you mind if I keep checking in with you to see how you're doing?  I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not to go through with the MUA. I'm so sorry that you're in so much pain right now.  Has it gotten any better since you posted this?  That has to be tough with a 10 month old. You must be fairly young.  I'm 51 years old, but I was a very young 51 until this car accident.  How long have you been dealing with Frozen shoulder, and do you know what caused yours (injury, etc). I hope you get this post and that you'll write me back and keep me posted. Hang in there!

Hi.  I'm new too. So sorry to hear about your accident. Nothing caused my shoulder to freeze. I had my daughterat the end of February and a couple of months later it started. I'm 31. But I am a type 1 diabetic.

I have got more movement. Slightly more. The pain is still bad but not as bad as when I woke after surgery. (I was given fentanyl after surgery and it only just took the edge off the pain) 😳

im in ibuprofen and paracetamol and I have to stretch till I feel it pull. There is going to be a lot of physio startingon Monday so I will keep you updated.

Pat the moment I'm not sure if I've done the right thing. I was in minimal pain minimal movement phase and now it just feels like a step back.

      We will see

How is the pain now?  I'm wondering why you had surgery if you had only minimal pain b4 Mwa?

I've been thinking that myself! It was heavily recommended by the doc as she pointed out if I left it my daughter might be three before I could play with her properly. A horrid thought.

The pain is ok. I've not taken any relief today just my usual 500mg naproxen this morning. I take two a day and have done since I started with the shoulder. It has helped. it was the movement I couldn't cope with. My little girl coming up asking to be lifted and me having to do it so stupidly she would want down because of the restricted movement.

I have certainly got more movement which is awesome. My shoulder is very weak though. I was thinking about it and because it was all stuck for such a long time it was supporting it and I didn't have to use the muscle. I'm working hard on stretching it and trying to get some strength back.
