Mucous retention sinusitis

Hello friends, I am suffering from post nasal drip continuously with headache, eye pain, tiredness, feeling of nasal block at while sleeping and the most annoying thing is bad breath which is so embarrassing... I had done CT scan 2 years ago it shows 19mm of mucus retention cysts ..My Gp just gave me some nasal spray and that's it .. but the symptoms are not going.. Please anyone can help me ???

    Hi. Do you suffer dry mouth? Or eyes with your other symptoms?

      Yes I do feel dry mouth Specially at night time when I cannot breath through my nose and I tend to breath through mouth.. which makes my mouth dry.

    It is just that many if your symptoms sound a bit like Sjogren's syndrome. A test would receal if you don't produce enough saliva. It is part of the syndrome as is chronic sinusitis.

    Hi Nanda,

    It sure sounds to me that you need the opinion of a good ENT instead of stopping at the GP level. Is there a way you can get a referral to go see the ENT specialist? However, do note that often at ENT, one quick option is surgery. Nasal surgery requires time and patience for the healing process. 

    I had bad nasal blockage 4.5mths back (swollen turbinates and infected right maxillary sinus) and so I underwent surgery to clear those up. It's been 2.5mths since the surgery and I'm still in recovery. Because the sinus hole was blocked, the sinus was infected, breathing was difficult, I also felt very tired and my throat was always inflamed due to the back drip. I must say most of these symptoms are gone now for me - but the healing process is slow.

    Seeing an ENT is best next step for you I think. But do research to understand your cyst situation better. All Best!
