i am 12 days post op for horrhoidectomy and find that i am constantly having bm and leaking. the pain after bm is getting better but ive had 8 bm today and its only 1.30pm! its such a process too after each one to clean and sutz bath. i have told employer that i would try and return next tuesday, but i dont know if i can the thought of having an accident at work fills me with dread. as soon as i get the feeling i need the loo with urgency! to those further along when do bowels go back to normal?

I am 3 weeks past my op. and although i feel way better. i am also still getting alot of bm as well. My dr. prescribe immodium ad to stop the constant bm. I am drinking fibercon and I'm thinking that its the fibercon. but will continue drinking it until i see my dr. I took four weeks and i'm so glad I did. I work in an office and was afraid to stop talking to my students to run to the bathroom. also, when i use the bathroom i have the urge to shower and clean after since i feel that the baby wipes are irritating. i am still waiting for my bm to go back to normal. i still feel pressure and i am still swollen. hoping that the swelling and pressure goes away.

I'm only going about once a day now at day 27. if I eat a rich meal however can be up to 3 times a day Also coffee has an impact on me within the hour running for a toilet.
Ice helped me a lot in the first week and a bit. I also sometimes sat with clothing on-on a hot wheat bag. Now I'm just doing bath and sitz bath. The good thing is now I have been going to the toilet same time each day. So I can plan around it -it also depends on the stool softners, fibre etc your on. I won't eat heavy if I'm out just in case.

Its normal. it will eventually get better. One of the issues I have is that when i feel like having a bm i cant hold it as before. When i have to go i have to go. sometimes i feel the pressure to go and when i use the toilet, i just needed to pass gas. dr. told me it will take time for my body to get back to normal. he cant tell me how long. have you drank immodium ad (well ask your dr about it first).
i dont drink coffee or soda anymore since it gives me the urge to use the bathroom quickly.
I took 4 weeks from work hopefully my body will be a little back to normal with the bm.
hang in there. i felt the same way. the dr really dont tell you how bad the pain is and how you have to be mentally ready for all the changes. but it does get better.

I know what you mean i find if i am walking around just around the house i need to go urgently and my body strains but not much comes out. no not tried immodium as my stool is formed. but may give it a go. its all so exhausting isnt it .
