You're right that vitamin C increases the absorption of non-heme iron; i.e., iron from plant foods, such as spinach. However, vitamin C doesn't affect the absorption of heme iron; i.e., iron from animal foods, such as meat.

I knew about vit c but I didn't know it didn't effect heme iron absorption, so will look into that as of course we need most nutrients to exist a healthy as possible life.
