hi ladies

I'm scaring myself silly here. I know I am in peri and ive suffered with twitching for years. I'm always googling my symptoms and know that twitching can be a symptom of Al's. but just recently I've started to suffer with a trembling inside, I can only describe it as a shaking like after you have done a workout. it is in my legs and arms and its scarying me to death. my body feels weaker and so tired aswell.my iron and magnesium levels have been checked and all is ok. I'm convinced I have Als. anyone out there feel the same xx

    Hi Lisa

Some of my peri symptoms are trembling inside and muscle twitching. It comes and goes but is at a high when my health anxiety takes of. And when I google... omg it get's much worse.

So I managed to stop seeing dr. google and it has all gotten much better.

I don't know if you can stop googling but maybe it is worth a try?

    All the best to you!

Yep. Started in 2017 for me and was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue last year. Some days are better than others, and I'm thankful because it could be worse. For all I know, this is all peri related, but sometimes I feel like doctors try to make a new diagnosis "box" if the majority of people don't fit into a certain one. So...time will tell, I suppose.

Lisa, my husband passed away from ALS and his muscle twitching was VERY rapid and non stop for instance on the side of his upper arm and part shoulder you could see the twitching (the entire length of his upper arm ) it would twitch NONSTOP and VERY RAPID 24/7 never stop until his muscle had completely atrophy . I went through the ALS Scare with the twitching before my husband died from it. So unless your twitching is as I described you have nothing to worry about. I also had and have the weakness BUT its a feeling and a sensation ours is even like putty feeling BUT that is NOT ALS weakness ALS weakness is where you actually see where the muscle has atrophy deflated waste away with ALS weakness you can't pop a cap on a coke can , you can't lift a spoon or lift a laundry basket. Peri / meno weakness is different altogether I watched my husband waste away for 3 years on life support . If you have any questions on ALS I can answer those for you because I lived it first hand with my husband from the very first onset symptoms SOME would surprise you. I do NOT believe yours is ALS I experience all that you have said for years too. I hope this has shed some light for you. Hugs!

I can't see anything past the word "VERY" either. It's just cut off after that.

I have had where after little exertion, my legs will feel super weak. Sometimes I get heavy feeling in them & almost numb feeling. Same thing in my arms at times. It's all so weird, horrific & scary. How can only some women experience all this? I'm only 41.

Whenever i want to google a symptom, I type "perimenopause and..." and whatever the symptom is. If it's a symptom of peri, it cones right up. And then I'm not reading about a bunch of scary diseases, and my mind relaxes. And yes, I've had everything you've described. Like all my peri symptoms, they come and go.

I totally hear you. I'm going through something similar.

I'm 49, surely perimenopausal, have had pain in muscles for at least a year (and pain in front thigh muscles for longer), and in the past two months I developed constant twitches in both feet and calves and it's still happening every day -- and now I'm getting occasional twitches everywhere I think due to the stress of worrying about the feet/calves twitches. I Googled too and it just stressed me out so very badly. On the other hand you'll see that I posted a question about this and quite a few people responded that they also have muscle twitching. Please don't dwell on terrible scenarios -- it seems like twitching is something that quite a few women experience on peri/menopause. I also found a news article where a woman in peri described going through the same thing. Try to get on with your day, enjoy every moment, and if it will help you feel better go see a doctor so you can put your mind at ease. I'm trying to do this too. 😃
