Muscle twitches all over body

Hello,

I've been going through a bit of a torrid time for a number of months and I wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar.

At present, I am suffering constant muscle twitches all over my body - but particularly in my legs - to the point my legs feel is if they are being weighed down with lead. I also get recurring sensation of something crawling all over my body.

Around 4 months ago I began to suffer from headaches every single day, accompanied with light headedness and insomnia. Later that was accompanied by intermittent spells of blurred vision.

I sought my optician who gave my eyes a clean bill of health.

My GP initially suspected tension headache. However, he ran my bloods and checked my blood pressure, which failed to show up anything.

I have been prescribed beta blockers and muscle relaxants, neither of which worked.

Now, unable to pinpoint anything, the GP has referred me to a neurologist, for which I am still awaiting an appointment.

Since being referred to neurology, the twitching and crawling sensation has started to appear. I am now due to have further blood tests to see if anything has changed.

The twitching has been constant for the past week, and they are quite violent twitches. These have been in my legs, feet, arms, hands, face, neck, back and torso.

I have had little spells where I have also experienced the sensation of someone pricking my skin with needles.

It may be a long shot, but has anyone else had problems with all over muscle twitching, sensations of things crawling all over, headaches and blurred vision? If so, what was the diagnosis?

It's not a pleasant experience and is quite frightening.

EDIT - My blood test failed to show anything up.

Stress issues. You need to find a way to lower your stress levels and promote good blood flow.
