Muscle twitches /spasm

maybe 2/3. times a day for a few seconds i get twitching in random places like my thigh, calf or arm etc. was wondering if anyone else has had this? was thinking it could be from being inactive since being ill and its just a natural response as they aren't being used as they used to.

I can't tell you what it has to do with, however, I can tell you that it has happened and continues to happen to me. At first, it happened everywhere all the time. Legs, arms, face, back etc. You name a part of the body and I most likely had twitching in that area. It was bad at the very on set of it all. Now, it has settled although I do get twitching here and there. Keep me updated if you don't mind, yes?

    Hey Sam,

I remember when I went through mono that I had some strange twitching as well in different places, it was very strange, one thing that sticks in my mind was twitching in my eyelid for some reason! I'm no expert but I do think this kind of thing can be normal when going through a terrible virus like mono, your nervous system can take a real knock and these kind of strange things can happen but in the vast majority of cases it is just a frustrating symptom that will pass and settle with time and as you recover which you will!

Herbs and vitamins helped me a lot during recovery, in particular for the nervous system a good strong multi-vitamin per day, a B complex vitamin and/or Co-enzyme Q10 (great for energy levels and nervous system), and herbs like cayenne pepper and chamomile can be very soothing for the nervous system, although again these can sometimes make you a little more relaxed and tired too which I know being more tired is not really what is needed as this virus makes you so drained as it is. Of course I'm no expert just going on my own research / knowledge and what helped me - it's always wise to check for any interactions with other medications / conditions before starting any vitamins and herbs, and a good idea can be seeing a good herbal specialist / herbalist which helped me during recovery too, and to check in with the doctor too.

Hoping very much you feel better soon Sam and hang in there - you will get through, God is on our side.

Thanks Sam, really hoping that these symptoms settle down soon. And remember that you will get better from this Sam, it can be normal for these kind of things to be stubborn and try to linger for a bit before they go, but they will go Sam that is for sure and you will get back to full health again - don't give up and remember sometimes not giving up isn't about fighting in the face of it, often during this it's about resting when you need to, being understanding and kind to yourself, and keeping in mind that even though this is a nasty nasty virus it does get completely better with time and God's help.

Good luck with the supplements, again just be careful and check things out before starting to take anything, I'm only going on things that helped me but it definitely is important to do your research or check with a specialist before starting anything.

My face/cheek and eye twitched non-stop for 2 days, once I had my hydration (with sodium) in check. The twitching stopped. I weighed 117 lbs and I drank 100-120 oz of water a day alternating with Pedialyte POWDER. Again, use the Pedialyte POWDER. Once I started taking Lysine everyday on an empty stomach, is when the fever started breaking.

Hope you are feeling much better now Excited-for-good, definitely good advice to drink lots of water for sure. I haven't heard of the Pedialyte Powder but always interesting to hear of things that have helped people and to give people some options to look into / consider - thanks for the info.
