Muscle weakness-- shingles or pinched nerve?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I am on week 3 of my shingles experience. My shingles rash is on my scalpy, ear, neck and shoulders. The rash itself is getting better finally. Since the outbreak, I experienced burning sensations all down my right arm and fingers that was so bad I had to wrap my arm in gauze so nothing would brush my skin. Over the past 24 hours my arm and fingers have gone weak and numb.

I suppose it would make sense that this is part of shingles, but it seems really strange. I can't help but think I have a pinched nerve or something else causing the weakness/lack of coordination in my arm.

Has anyone ever had muscle weakness as a part of shingles?
