I just don't get it, don't think my tablets are working??? I went on these tablets as put on 3 stone in a year for no reason, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on thyroxin, for last year I've been on them I've been on a diet and excerised but lost nothing. My Dr put me on orlistat, ate and excercised the same(don't eat much fat anyway), no oil leakage and no accidents. Been on these for 5 weeks lost a few pounds 1st week and nothing since. Peeeed off to say the least gonna have some crisps and see what happens.

I can understand how disillusioned you are but don't give up. If you already have a very low fat diet then Orlistat won't help you much because they only work on fat. Talk to your doctor about getting some specialist nutrition advice because clearly there's some reason other tha too much fat in your diet that's causing you to plateau. There's a solution for everyone - it's just a matter of working out what's going to work for you. But I'd be surprised if the answer is crisps! Good luck!

Thanks, I really just don't know what to do anymore. The sad thing is I'm a qualified diet and nutrition advisor so don't need any diet advise so you can imagine just how frustrated I am. I did have some crisps and the tablets are working lol. No leaks just a slightly oily number 2 this morning.

    Hi,

I have been on these pills three times now and I have found each time that in my first month I too hardly lose any weight. I also have a underactive thyroid and on Levothyroxine.

The weigh loss for me started to kick in around week 6 so stick with it. If your not having any oily accidents then your diet is ok, your doing it wrong if your having accidents.

Just watch your calorie intake Im sticking around 1200 to 1300 per day and losing average 1lb a week which is slow but steady. My exercise is a bit non existent at the moment which I keep trying to get back on it but my energy is very low at the minute.

Its more difficult for us with thyroid problems I too cannot lose weight without these pills hence the reason this is my third time on Orlistat but stick with it and you should start to see some results very soon.

Thank you so much Claire, this really has been a very helpful reply, I really appreciate it, my scales (the evil step) are not very good at all, so I'm thinking about going back to slimming world 1) for great support from friends I've made there and 2) because least their scales are accurate. My husband will role his eyes again for me going back for the 100th time lol, but I think its what I need.

      Xx
