MUST READ! Baby shampoo and tea tree oil

Posted , 22 users are following.

I read a few people saying they use tea tree face wash for bleth. I went ahead and added 2 drops of tea tree pure oil into my baby shampoo and water mix that I apply twice daily to lashes with a cotton bud..

24 hours later my vision is clearer, I've woke up on the second day with a very small amount of crust on my eyes.. The itching is minimal.. I am on day 3 of using after trying everything and a miserable week of a bad flare up!

I would give it a go ASAP

Baby shampoo

Tea tree oil

Water

(In a travel bottle made for shampoos etc so easy to carry around)

Cotton bud dipped in and wipe around lash line and eye area

I will keep updated but this feels good to have clear eyes 😀

I use Dr Bonner’s pure Castile Tea Tree liquid soap on my eyes and face. Useing my fingers I rub the soap across my eyelids.  Over time I have been diluting the soap less and les with a bit of water. It stings just a tad. Once rinsed any stinging sensation ceases.

I also use it as a hand wash. Each of us has different sensitivities and so I would test on your hands first.

    Hope this helps

Hi Emma, can you please explain what you do after you wipe the tea tree oil around your eye?  Do you wash your face?  Do you let it sit around the eye?  Any help would be greatly appreciated

I just leave it on, followed by blephasol.

      Working wonders.

Do you leave the solution on your eyes or rinse after application?

I have sensitive skin. Do you rinse the solution after application on your eyes? I can’t imagine leaving it on.

I actually rinse the tea tree soap just like I would with my face.

In addition, I also use Cliredex mentioned above every other week or so. They are expensive, so I cut in half and keep the unused half in a small plastic sealable bag. I use 2 nights in a row and leave on over night. These are definitely strong so test lightly. However the stinging does go away after a short time.

      good luck

Sarah, just use a drop of the Tea Tree Oil with the no tears baby shampoo, about the size of a dime,or a little less Close your eyes and rub gently all over your eyes getting the edge of your eyelids well. Then rinse your eyes and face under the faucet. Pat you face and eyes gently dry. Apply a gentle moisturizer. Use a good eyedrop like Systane.

So pleased to have found this thread! Have blepharitis & dry eye for almost 12 months & have tried everything! Just tried tea tree oil yesterday & then twice today & feeling 50% better already! Will it continue to improve if I keep going on a daily basis do you think? Is twice a day cleansing about right? Feeling so excited that something may help as have spent a fortune on Moorfield's doctors & various steroid drops & restasis & nothing has helped & beginning to feel quite down about it....Can I overdo the tree oil at all & then it will stop working?

    ?So many thanks!

    Hi,

do you think a tea tree eye gel would work the same or does it have to be 100% tea tree oil?

I have found an optase eye gel and a reviewer said it stopped her eyelashes falling out.

would you say your eyelashes improved after using the oil?

    thanks
