My 87yr old mother developed Cellulitis on both legs after a knee replacement just over a year ago. She had a couple of courses of antibiotics at the start & has tried lots of different creams, but still has skin as she puts it, "like an elephant". It is very debilitating & her legs & feet are permanently swollen. mother lives alone & loved to go out at every opportunity but now this condition has made her life restricted & of course because she doesn't go out much her confidence is at rock bottom. I know she is old but surely more could be done to help the condition.

I originally suffered from facial cellulitis about a year ago, Unfortunately, my GP kept saying it was an allergic reaction, for 3 days. Eventually I felt so unwell that I took myself to hospital, where it was discovered I had a tooth abscess, which had turned to cellulitis, and was very serious. I have since been told it is a form of blood poisoning? It was treated with antibiotics and steroids via drip (in hospital) and afterwards with high dose antibiotics at home. Since then I have had 3 reoccurrences.
I now know when an attack is coming on, as I feel very flu like, and my face feels leathery and numb, before swelling and becoming bright red and extremely tender.
I have found that colloidal silver helps me incredibly. I spray it on to my skin, and the relief is almost instantaneous. I also drink a teaspoonful. The other thing that eases the pain a lot is a cold pack wrapped in a tea towel, applied to the skin.
I had an attack which started yesterday, and is now almost over.
Don't know if this will help, but hope it does.
