My advice for you if you are starting on SERTRALINE

I'm a spanish speaker, sorry if my English is bad. I want to share my experience on this antidepressant because other people's experiences on this site helped me a lot. I was suffering some intense anxiety and I could barely do anything but have panics attacs all day. I went to the psychiatrist and she gave me SETRALINE. The first 2 weeks were HELL I couldn't sleep and my anxiety went over the top, I wanted to quit several times but thank God I didn't! I've been on SERTRALINE for 3 weeks now and all I can say is that I feel SO GOOD, not 100% but at least 75 or 80% my old self again and I know I will reach my goals very soon. My advice for you if you are starting on SETRALINE is DON'T QUIT, I know it could be very very hard but you should stick with it and just hold on for 2 weeks, after all the suffering I promise you'll see the light at the end of the tunnel smile THANK GOD FOR SERTRALINE!

Thank you so much. I am on week 6 and I am some better but I'm not to a therapeutic dose yet. I am on my 3rd day of 100 mg. I am definitely better than I was a month ago, but not myself yet.

I'm on my 23th day of Sertraline and on my 12th day of 100mg. I started with 25mg. first, after 4 days I started with 50mg., after another 4 days I started with 75 mg. And after those 4 more days I finally started taking 100mg. The secondary effects were pretty strong but was worth it!

I'm glad you are feeling better! Please keep us updated as much as possible for some reassurance. I am only on day 16 and it is still pretty bad but it is my first day at the whole 50mg pill. Are you taking it for anxiety or depression? Both?

I'm taking it for anxiety and multiple panic attacs, the anxiety is still there but doesn't bother me, I don't have panic attacs anymore tho smile

Hi just joined this forum as am desperate! I'm also on day 16 on sertraline, 25 mg. on that dose to allow my body to get used to it as I'm highly sensitive to medication. I'm no stranger to anti depressants etc been on just about everything at some point! I have got so well with talking therapy that I managed to get off all psych drugs for a bit. But recently been hit with a bit of depression and huge anxiety do decided to go back on them. Been on sertraline before and it seems to have the least side effects for me, but I'm really struggling. Am seeing psych dr in Wednesday when I know it will be put up to 50mg but will this make things worse?? My anxiety has been extreme the past few weeks, I feel like I'm going insane and I'm getting more and more desperate. Everything panics me! I can't seem to function! I wake up every morning (I take it at night because I seem to sleep really well on it and if I take it in the morning I'm too tired and drowsy in the day) and it starts as soon as I wake! I feel sick, I struggle to breathe, even though I do all the breathing exercises I know. I'm instantly covered in sweat from head down and I just dread the day ahead! The smallest thing overwhelms me and I feel like I'm not going to be able to cope to do it, although I always do. I have taken diazepam off and on to counter the heightened anxiety side effects which I know can happen for the couple of weeks, but don't want to become reliant on them. I just thought I'd be feeling better by now, is this the sort of thing you are feeling?? The constant pacing is also doing my head in!!

You should try to help SERTRALINE with other drugs as clonazepam and pregabalin, those drugs helped me a lot and I feel 95% better than 1 month ago

im currently on day 19 of 50mg sertaline, now paired with 80mg propanolol and 7.5mg zopicloyne and i have experienced zero sleep for over 5 nights in a row.

most of my severe anxiety is work based so i am currently signed off until the meds get in my system and i feel better,

so far i can honestly say i dont really feel any better menatlly although with my anxiety i always experience alot of physical symptoms eg pins and needle sensation in face and very painful wrist joints (very random but very painful) but these seems much better on sertaline. im really hoping it will be as sucsessful for me as it has been for you. fingers crossed smile
