My Aquablation Experience

I would like to share my recent experience having just had this procedure done a scant 2 weeks ago, October 26th, 2023. I chose this as the least invasive and quickest recovery time based upon the published data available and many of this forum's participants comments. This is just MY experience that i wanted to add to this data base.
I had a catheter in place for 13 weeks prior to surgery so my insides were already very irritated... felt like the end of my penis was on constant fire. This changed to excruciating bladder and urethral spasms immediately following surgery, to the degree that none if the usual antispasmodic meds like Pyradium had any appreciable impact. All i can do is scream at the top of my lungs and thrash until the spasm relents. Trapped gas and any small amount of bowel in my rectum are the biggest triggers. And during these episodes, and while I'm trying to pee, it feels like entire urethra and penis is passing red, hot lava.
Since I'm still pushing fluids to flush my bladder, this scenario means I usually have at least 1-2 spasms per hour, round the clock, which means after 2 weeks I am extremely sleep deprived and just wrung out and weak from dealing with the degree and frequency of pain. I got so weak that my PCP agreed to send in some home health care assistance.
I share this because I do not recall reading about nor being told about these possible complications until "after the fact"... and that "yes" this sometimes happens and "it can take between 6-8 weeks to heal".
I pray that since they removed the catheter 2 days ago, Nov. 8th, that the spasms will start to decrease along with the pain and burning. I also pray that by week 3, things will be better than now at week 2 as it is still quite a struggle to void... I mean my bladder REALLY pushes!
I hope this will prove to be useful to the group and anyone who is considering this option. I would also greatly hearing from anyone who has had similar experience.
Many thanks!

Wow? That is terrible. Impossible, but real life. I am so sorry for you, Benjammin. Reading on internet and found this: "Aquablation therapy is a one-of-a-kind procedure. It is the only procedure that uses a heat-free waterjet controlled by robotic technology to remove prostate tissue. In addition, it is the only procedure that combines a camera (called a cystoscope) with ultrasound imaging, giving the surgeon the ability to see the entire prostate in real time. As a result, Aquablation therapy is precise, consistent, and predictable, and provides long-term relief no matter how large your prostate is.1,2"
Gee Whiz. What a difference between a sales pitch and real life. Can I believe anything these urologists say from now on? They induced me with their smooth advertising into doing the Eurolift procedure and I am suffering with too much pain now six weeks afterwards. Please understand that is my opinion only and I am not trying to convince others to make the urologists look bad.

Have you looked into the possibility of UTI?
