Hello tara. That sounds really horrible.  I dont know what country you are in, or what your weather is like -   can you not get to a specialist? I have asthma but I dont cough- so I have moved to a sunny country which helps me enormously - please try a get a proper diagnosis. Next time give the name of your inhalers? I use Symbicort and a SALTPIPE bought off the net. Good luck - jay

I have a bridge player friend and she is challenged with asthma, took many drugs and inhaler and since she's taking Grape Seed Extract for about 6 yrs now, she is so improved....still uses some help with the drug(s) but the Grape Seed Ex has made a significant difference.......

Look up: Asthma and grape seed extract and

    Asthma and Pycnogenol

These are both originally from France....

I don't have asthma but had allergy/sinus issues all my life prior to find Pycnogenol and or Grape Seed Ex 19 yrs ago...

    No more drugs here...

You do know that longterm use of steriods is a big reason many end up with early joint replacements, they break down bones and many also end up with osteoporosis.....

I'm not saying not to use what you need, but doing alternative healing as well.

I have no input on the drug world, only supplments....and ibuprofen and bp meds and thyroid support.

I get the impression so many in the UK don't consider alternative healing too much....a few I've met do but so many seem not to....good luck....and better breathing for you.

I would you suggest you to contact a good allergist and by his direction your asthma can be controlled. Mostly they say to avoid certain foods, pollens, furs etc. Also, consult with a nutrionist.

Hi Tara, you have my sympathy - i've had a rough few weeks with my asthma in terms of constant cough really. I trialled Fostair a few months ago and had to come off it within a week as it didnt agree with me and my symptoms worsened. I went back on Seretide which I find much better. Have had to move back up to the 250 version for the winter, but I find that seretide and my salamol work the best 9along with the occassional week on steroid tabs when i really struggle - under asthma nurses supervision of course). I hope you can see someone helpful as i know just how tiring it is coughing constantly with interupted sleep...
