i feel like i have to breathe on my own, whenever im focused on other things i find myself not breathing. Going to sleep is such a struggle for me. Everytime i fall asleep i wake up or i get sleep paralysis. This has been going on for a good 2 weeks now .. Ive already made three hospital visits they find nothing wrong. they ars treating this as Anxiety. Could this really be anxiety ?

    Hi Try not to wory.

A neurologist usually orders a sleep study in a case such as this.

    Are you in the UK?

If so ask your Dr to refer you to a neurological hospital fora sleep study including video  telemetry.

Clearly a full nuero exam firstb but then In order to disengage from sensory obsessions, you must learn “the art of self-awareness.”you must learn how to invite in the sensory awareness with a relaxed and accepting posture, very much like the focus on diaphragmatic breathing during mediation. Terrible ocd.

Sorry I do not have an answer. Can you ask your dr the same question and let us know what he says.

Meanwhile I think that Jan and Lisalisa advice is excellent.

      Good luck.

Yes it can absolutely be Anxiety related!

i stop breathing when focusing on things also and have done it for many years!

I have had anxiety since kindergarten.

I have to catch myself not breathing and stop what I am doing then breathe slowly and deeply. It's bad because when we don't breathe, we don't get oxygenated and that can lead to lightheadness, and more anxiety.etc

if we don't take the time to breathe it means we are too wound up.

if you need a good night sleep, go to you tube and search for meditations for sleep or meditations for anxiety.

two great meditations are called clearing subconscious negativity and guided meditation for detachment from overthinking.

many to pick from!!      Including sleep music, proper breathing technique, etc .

use earbuds, lay down and listen.

These will calm down your mind and that is exactly what you need to do.

get a copy of the book called Mindfulness. Great read on this topic!!

    Feel better soon!🌸🌸🌸
