my boyfriend has aspergers

As the title says my boyfriend has Aspergers. He is the most loving, generous, affectionate, caring guy but he is too easily influenced by his family. For years they have been the problem in our relationship to the point we have split up twice! His mum is very controlling over and treats him less than his self worth. He has recently told me because he leaves the gas on sometimes (which we are all guilty of doing at some point) she is now adament he needs assistance through a talking device so a electronic support worker!! He does not need this but he will agree to it because he is scared of her. I am finding this hard because I am a support worker myself to two Austistic girls. I also have anxiety and on medication for it so I can't quite cope with this latest blow to us 😦 am I wrong for feeling like this? should I stand by him or take myself away from the situation?
