My brain thinks I'm going to pass out?

I'm not sure if this is going to make sense although I hope it does.

I sometimes feel discombobulated/like a may pass out (quite frequently recently tbh.) But this is different. This morning I went for an early morning run with my mum (about 5am) we ran through a park, which had areas that weren't lit up. When we ran through these areas my mind was telling me I was going to pass out. My vision became hazy and blurry, everything started to tune out a bit around the edges of my vision. Everything else felt fine, I didn't feel faint or dizzy/light-headed but my brain was warning me that I may pass out. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Chloe, are you eating enough and drinking enough fluids? Is your blood pressure low? Going through stress or hormonal changes? Exposed to pollution, poisons, or exhaust from cars when you run?

I have had this experience a number of times and actually blacked out several times when I was younger but always knew it was coming as you describe. It was most likely hormonal changes, or needed to eat more, or was dehydrated, or growing so fast my body was adjusting. After I was much older I experienced this after I was vaccine injured, but it was like you describe and I did not actually pass out.

If you feel like you are going to black out. Sit down and lower your head. For instance if you are in a chair, put your head between your knees if you can. Or just sit or lie down and your body may balance things back out. I hope you will not risk falling. If you feel faint, best to take a break until the fog clears.

    Good luck to you!

I always make sure to brace myself when I think I might pass out, but I honestly didn't feel like I was going to, my brain just told me I was. I eat and drink before I go out (and drink while I go) I've had tests done before because of fainting and everything was normal. It was literally just in the dim lit areas that my head was telling me I was going to collapse, but I felt fine! Weird. Thank you though

Hi Chloe, I like what Rhuby suggested about getting a good eye exam. The doctor can see if there may be high pressure in your eyes or any other problem that could cause this. Yes, it is a good idea to get this checked out. Good luck!

If I exercised first thing in the morning without eating I passed out. I am not sure if my blood sugar had dropped too low or what, I ensure I eat first now.

I make sure to get up and eat beforehand, because otherwise I feel sick. It's just weird that I only feel that way when I'm in less lit areas

Interestingly enough I passed out in Waitrose a while back, now if I go into a supermarket I feel faint, but I am fine going into smaller shops. Perhaps it is partly in my mind.

I have not had this but I think it best to see and ophthomalogist just to be sure you do not have a detached retina.
